Net outflow of Rs 2317.74 crore on 6 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 2317.74 crore into the secondary equity markets on 6 February 2018, higher compared with net outflow of Rs 1211.47 crore on 5 February 2018. On 6 February 2018, the Sensex fell 561.22 points or 1.61% to settle at 34,195.94, its lowest closing level since 5 January 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 2317.74 crore from the secondary equity markets on 6 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5908.34 crore and gross sales of Rs 8226.08 crore.
There was an inflow of Rs 599.41 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 6 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 602.82 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.41 crore.
FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 1640.47 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 6 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 1029.57 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far till 6 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 11994.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in Calendar 2018 so far till 6 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in Calendar 2017.
