Net outflow of Rs 1276.11 crore on 9 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1276.11 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 February 2018, lower than net outflow of Rs 2230.67 crore on 8 February 2018. On 9 February 2018, the Sensex fell 407.40 points or 1.18% to settle at 34,005.76, its lowest closing level since 4 January 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1276.11 crore from the secondary equity markets on 9 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3631.71 crore and gross sales of Rs 4907.82 crore.
There was an outflow of Rs 117.59 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 9 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 15.11 crore and gross sales of Rs 132.70 crore.
FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 6161.31 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 9 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 929.91 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far till 9 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
