Net outflow of Rs 264.44 crore on 7 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 264.44 crore from the secondary equity markets yesterday, 7 September 2017, as compared to net selling of Rs 1288.99 crore on 6 September 2017. On 7 September 2017, the Sensex rose 0.77 points to settle at 31,662.74, its highest closing level since 5 September 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 264.44 crore on 7 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5233.65 crore and gross sales of Rs 5498.09 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 38.21 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 7 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.28 crore and gross sales of Rs 39.49 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 3102.96 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 7 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore from the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 23705.04 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 7 September 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
