Net inflow of Rs 305.60 crore on 20 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 305.60 crore on Wednesday, 20 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 658.24 crore on Tuesday, 19 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 305.60 crore on 20 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3509.93 crore and gross sales of Rs 3204.33 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 305.60 crore into the secondary equity market on 20 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3509.93 crore and gross sales of Rs 3204.33 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 106.38 points or 0.4% to settle at 26,314.29, its lowest closing level since 14 August 2014.

There was nil activity in the category 'primary market & others' on 20 August 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3296.61 crore in August 2014 (till 20 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.
