Net inflow of Rs 266.19 crore on 9 June 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 266.19 crore yesterday, 9 June 2016, lower than net inflow of Rs 540.10 crore during the preceding trading session on 8 June 2016. The net inflow of Rs 266.19 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 June 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3579.76 crore and gross sales of Rs 3313.57 crore. On that day, the Sensex shed 127.71 points or 0.48% to settle at 26,635.75, its lowest closing level since 26 May 2016.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 3994.01 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 9 June 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 2000 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 18811.02 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 9 June 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There was a net outflow of Rs 2.80 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 9 June 2016. The net outflow of Rs 2.80 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 9 June 2016 was a result of nil gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 2.80 crore. The net outflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 3.83 crore in this month so far (till 9 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 542.89 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 632.87 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 9 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
