Net inflow of Rs 637.51 crore on 16 July 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 637.51 crore on Wednesday, 16 July 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 0.56 crore on Tuesday, 15 July 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 637.51 crore on 16 July 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4498.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 3861.26 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 664.11 crore into the secondary equity market on 16 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4498.59 crore and gross sales of Rs 3834.48 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 321.07 points or 1.27% to settle at 25,549.72 on that day, its highest closing level since 8 July 2014.

There was a net outflow of Rs 26.60 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 16 July 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.19 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.19 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8895.52 crore in this month so far (till 16 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13990.75 crore in June 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 68690.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 16 July 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
