Net inflow of Rs 531.90 crore on 27 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 531.90 crore on Wednesday, 27 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 665.03 crore on Tuesday, 26 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 531.90 crore on 27 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3670.09 crore and gross sales of Rs 3138.19 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 473.63 crore into the secondary equity market on 27 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3611.82 crore and gross sales of Rs 3138.19 crore. The Sensex had garnered 117.34 points or 1.44% to settle at 26,560.15 on that day, a record closing high.

There was an inflow of Rs 58.27 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 27 August 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014 (till 27 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 78335.10 crore in this calendar year so far (till 27 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
