Net inflow of Rs 122.78 crore on 25 January 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have bought stocks worth a net Rs 122.78 crore on 25 January 2016, compared with their outflow of Rs 731.67 crore during the preceding trading session on 22 January 2016. The stock market was shut on Tuesday, 26 January 2016 for Republic Day Holiday. The net inflow of Rs 122.78 crore into the secondary equity markets on 25 January 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3259.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 3137.02 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 50.29 points or 0.21% to settle at 24,485.95, its highest level since 14 January 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 0.36 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' on 25 January 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.12 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.48 crore.
FPIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 9650.14 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 25 January 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 2588.54 crore into the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net outflow of Rs 923.58 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 25 January 2016). There was an outflow of Rs 228.11 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The inflow of FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' stood at Rs 22168.40 crore in calendar year 2015.
