Net inflow of Rs 1109.37 crore on 3 March 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 1109.37 crore on 3 March 2016, lower than net inflow of Rs 1708.38 crore on 2 March 2016. The net inflow of Rs 1109.37 crore into the secondary equity markets on 3 March 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4366.62 crore and gross sales of Rs 3257.25 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 364.01 points or 1.5% to settle at 24,606.99, its highest closing level since 5 February 2016.
There were gross purchases of Rs 0.07 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.07 crore in the 'primary markets & others' category on 3 March 2016.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 4128.75 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 3 March 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 6069.31 crore into the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 12122.49 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 3 March 2016). FPIs offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4361.67 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net outflow of Rs 0.16 crore from FPIs from the 'primary markets & others' category in this month so far (till 3 March 2016). There was an inflow of Rs 547.92 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net outflow from FPIs from the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 396.75 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 3 March 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22167.82 from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
