Net purchases of Rs 605.10 crore on 19 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 605.10 crore from the secondary equity market on 19 July 2016, higher than net inflow of Rs 574.52 crore on 18 July 2016. The net inflow of Rs 605.10 crore into the secondary equity markets on 19 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4274.54 crore and gross sales of Rs 3669.44 crore. On that day, the Sensex had risen 40.96 points or 0.15% to settle at 27,787.62, its highest closing level since 15 July 2016.
There was a net inflow of Rs 106.14 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 19 July 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 109.69 crore and gross sales of Rs 3.55 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 6802.63 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 19 July 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 25038.61 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 19 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 358.65 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 19 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 1289.26 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 19 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
