Net inflow of Rs 657.45 crore on 24 March 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 657.45 crore from the secondary equity markets on 24 March 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 1096.76 crore on 23 March 2017. On that day, the Sensex had risen 89.24 points or 0.3% to settle at 29,421.40, its highest closing level since 21 March 2017.
The net inflow of Rs 657.45 crore on 24 March 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5358.13 crore and gross sales of Rs 4700.68 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 73.83 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 24 March 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.68 crore and gross sales of Rs 75.51 crore.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 22131.74 crore in March 2017 so far (till 24 March 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 8322.23 crore in February 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 29138.84 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 24 March 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
