Net inflow of Rs 311.76 crore on 25 April 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 311.76 crore from the secondary equity markets on 25 April 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 259.27 crore on 24 April 2017. On that day, the Sensex jumped 287.40 points or 0.97% to settle at 29,943.24, its highest closing level since 5 April 2017.
The net inflow of Rs 311.76 crore on 25 April 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5644.64 crore and gross sales of Rs 5332.88 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 14.22 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 25 April 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 15.61 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.39 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 1632.70 crore in April 2017 so far (till 25 April 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 29480.37 crore in March 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 34854.77 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 25 April 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
