Net inflow of Rs 2441.52 crore on 23 January 2018

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 2441.52 crore from the secondary equity markets on 23 January 2018, higher than net inflow of Rs 1607.29 crore on 22 January 2018. On 23 January 2018, the Sensex jumped 341.97 points or 0.96% to settle at 36,139.98, a record closing high.

The net inflow of Rs 2441.52 crore into the secondary equity markets on 23 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8374.42 crore and gross sales of Rs 5932.90 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 39.94 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 23 January 2018, which was a result of Rs 42.24 crore gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 2.30 scrore.

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 11072.56 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018 so far (till 23 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 190.94 crore into the primary market & others' category in January 2018 so far (till 23 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
