Net outflow of Rs 143.06 crore on 16 June 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 143.06 crore on Monday, 16 June 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 1250.17 crore on Friday, 13 June 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 143.06 crore on Monday, 16 June 2014, was a result of gross purchases Rs 3748.55 crore and gross sales of Rs 3891.61 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 145.92 crore from the secondary equity market on 16 June 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3745.11 crore and gross sales of Rs 3891.03 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had shed 37.69 points or 0.15% to settle at 25,190.48 on that day, its lowest closing level since 5 June 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 2.86 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 16 June 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.44 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.58 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 13959.86 crore in this month so far (till 16 June 2014). FPIs bought shares worth Rs 14006.15 crore in May 2014.
