Net outflow of Rs 40.77 crore on 7 October 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 40.77 crore on Tuesday, 7 October 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 586.28 crore on Wednesday, 1 October 2014.
The net outflow of Rs 40.77 crore on 7 October 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5094.83 crore and gross sales of Rs 5135.60 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 39.85 crore from the secondary equity market on 7 October 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5094.83 crore and gross sales of Rs 5134.68 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had dropped 296.02 points or 1.11% to settle at 26,271.97 on that day, its lowest closing level since 14 August 2014.
There was an outflow of Rs 0.92 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 7 October 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 388.38 crore in this month so far (till 7 October 2014). They have sold shares worth a net Rs 188.53 crore from the secondary markets in this month so far (till 7 October 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
