Net outflow of Rs 158.35 crore on 4 February 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have sold stocks worth a net Rs 158.35 crore on 4 February 2016, lower than net outflow of Rs 317.43 crore during the preceding trading session.
The net outflow of Rs 158.35 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 February 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3123.44 crore and gross sales of Rs 3281.79 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 115.11 points or 0.48% to settle at 24,338.43, its highest closing level since 2 February 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 19.23 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 4 February 2016.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 551.63 crore from the secondary equity markets this month so far (till 4 February 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 10181.93 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 9630.30 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 4 February 2016). FPIs offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4361.67 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
