Net outflow of Rs 264.22 crore on 31 January 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 264.22 crore into the secondary equity markets on 31 January 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 34.54 crore on 30 January 2018. On 31 January 2018, the Sensex had fallen 68.71 points or 0.19% to settle at 35,965.02, its lowest closing level since 22 January 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 264.22 crore from the secondary equity markets on 31 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7080.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 7344.32 crore.
There was an outflow of Rs 0.66 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 31 January 2018.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018. They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018. They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
