Net outflow of Rs 749.23 crore on 26 March 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 749.23 crore into the secondary equity markets on 26 March 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 1665.15 crore on 23 March 2018. On 26 March 2018, the Sensex had surged 469.87 points or 1.44% to settle at 33,066.41, its highest closing level since 21 March 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 749.23 crore from the secondary equity markets on 26 March 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4141.48 crore and gross sales of Rs 4890.71 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 238.78 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 26 March 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 284.83 crore and gross sales of Rs 46.05 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 5627.51 crore from the secondary equity markets in March 2018 so far (till 26 March 2018). They offloaded stocks worth a net Rs 16809.04 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have purchased stocks worth a net Rs 4932.86 crore from the primary market & others' category in March 2018 so far (till 26 March 2018). They purchased stocks worth a net Rs 5771.94 crore from the primary market & others' category last month.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 2454.21 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 26 March 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
