Net inflow of Rs 2742.49 crore on 28 February 2015

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2742.49 crore on 28 February 2015.

The net inflow of Rs 2742.49 crore on 28 February 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11335.44 crore and gross sales of Rs 8592.95 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 2723.33 crore into the secondary equity market on 28 February 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11314.57 crore and gross sales of Rs 8591.24 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 141.38 points or 0.48% to settle at 29,361.50, its highest closing level since 19 February 2015.

There was a net inflow of Rs 19.16 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 28 February 2015, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 20.87 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.71 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 27136.99 crore in calendar year 2015 so far (till 28 February 2015). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 21332.21 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015 so far (till 28 February 2015). FPIs had bought shares worth a net Rs 97055.90 crore in the calendar year 2014. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 84440.80 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2014.
