Net outflow of Rs 1224.29 crore on 21 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1224.29 crore into the secondary equity markets on 21 February 2018, higher than net outflow of Rs 732.18 crore on 20 February 2018. On 21 February 2018, the Sensex rose 141.27 points or 0.42% to settle at 33,844.86, its highest closing level since 16 February 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1224.29 crore from the secondary equity markets on 21 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5870.51 crore and gross sales of Rs 7094.80 crore.
There was an inflow of Rs 3.54 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 21 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.63 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.09 crore.
FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 11879.25 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 21 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 4243.25 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far till 21 February 2018. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
