Net outflow of Rs 5213.19 crore on 28 September 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 5213.19 crore into the secondary equity markets on 28 September 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 848.95 crore on 27 September 2017. FPIs sold shares for the ninth straight session. On 28 September 2017, the Sensex rose 122.67 points or 0.39% to settle at 31,282.48, its highest closing level since 26 September 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 5213.19 crore on 28 September 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7200.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 12413.59 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 535.45 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 28 September 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 545.46crore and gross sales of Rs 10.01 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 19973.64 crore into the secondary equity markets in September 2017 so far (till 28 September 2017). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 15935.61 crore into the secondary equity markets in August 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 8358.92 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 28 September 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 8581.37 crore from the category primary market & others' in September 2017 so far (till 28 September 2017). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 1642.12 crore from the category primary market & others' in August 2017.
