Net outflow of Rs 78.33 crore 15 June 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained sellers into the secondary equity markets for the second day in a row on Wednesday, 15 June 2016. FPIs offloaded stocks worth a net Rs 78.33 crore into the secondary equity market on 15 June 2016, compared with outflow of Rs 92.26 crore on 14 June 2016. The net outflow of Rs 78.33 crore from the secondary equity markets on 15 June 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3165.76 crore and gross sales of Rs 3244.09 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex gained 330.63 points or 1.25% to settle at 26,726.34, its highest closing level since 9 June 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 2.17 crore from FPIs from the category 'primary markets & others' on 15 June 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 4.57 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4279.04 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 15 June 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 2000 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 19096.30 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 15 June 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 115.30 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 15 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 542.89 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 751.90 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 15 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
