Net inflow of Rs 555.79 crore on 1 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 555.79 crore on Monday, 1 September 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 503.40 crore on Thursday, 28 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 555.79 crore on 1 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3829.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 3273.98 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 556.60 crore into the secondary equity market on 1 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3829.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 3273.17 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 229.44 points or 0.86% to settle at 26,867.55, a record closing high.

There was an outflow of Rs 0.81 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 1 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 52.39 crore in September 2014 (till 1 September 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 78387.50 crore in this calendar year so far (till 1 September 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
