Net inflow of Rs 1732.29 crore on 4 September 2014
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1732.29 crore on Thursday, 4 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 1314.71 crore on Wednesday, 3 September 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 1732.29 crore on 4 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5472.59 crore and gross sales of Rs 3740.30 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1712.08 crore into the secondary equity market on 4 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5451.70 crore and gross sales of Rs 3739.62 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex shed 54.01 points or 0.2% to settle at 27,085.93, its lowest closing level since 2 September 2014.
There was an inflow of Rs 20.21 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 4 September 2014.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3972.47 crore in this month so far (till 4 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 3818.84 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.
FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.
