Net inflow of Rs 1177.48 crore on 10 March 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 1177.48 crore on 10 March 2016, higher than net inflow of Rs 677.75 crore on 9 March 2016. The net inflow of Rs 1177.48 crore into the secondary equity markets on 10 March 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4739.97 crore and gross sales of Rs 3562.49 crore. On that day, the Sensex lost 170.62 points or 0.69% to settle at 24,623.34, its lowest closing level since 3 March 2016.
There was a net outflow of Rs 0.07 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category on 10 March 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.1 crore.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 7656.94 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 10 March 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 6069.31 crore into the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 8594.30 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 10 March 2016). FPIs offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4361.67 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 203.10 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in this month so far (till 10 March 2016). There was an inflow of Rs 547.92 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net outflow from FPIs from the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 193.49 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 10 March 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22167.82 from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
