Net inflow of Rs 1665.15 crore on 23 March 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 1665.15 crore from the secondary equity markets on 23 March 2018, higher than net inflow of Rs 119.82 crore on 22 March 2018. On 23 March 2018, the Sensex had fallen 409.73 points or 1.24% to settle at 32,596.54, its lowest closing level since 23 October 2017.
The net inflow of Rs 1665.15 crore into the secondary equity markets on 23 March 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 7234.23 crore and gross sales of Rs 5569.08 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 965.65 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 23 March 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 985.58 crore and gross sales of Rs 19.93 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 6376.74 crore from the secondary equity markets in March 2018 so far (till 23 March 2018). They offloaded stocks worth a net Rs 16809.04 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have purchased stocks worth a net Rs 4694.08 crore from the primary market & others' category in March 2018 so far (till 23 March 2018). They purchased stocks worth a net Rs 5771.94 crore from the primary market & others' category last month.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 3203.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 23 March 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
