Net purchases of Rs 1481.03 crore on 30 March 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) stepped up buying of Indian stocks during the previous trading session on 30 March 2016. FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 1481.03 crore on 30 March 2016. They had bought shares worth a net Rs 637.94 crore on 29 March 2016. The net inflow of Rs 1481.03 crore into the secondary equity markets on 30 March 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5884.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 4403.17 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex surged 438.12 points or 1.76% to settle at 25,338.58, its highest closing level since 6 January 2016.
There was a net inflow of Rs 40.63 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' on 30 March 2016, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 43.24 crore and gross sales of Rs 2.61 crore.
FPIs have mopped up stocks worth a net Rs 20720.56 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 30 March 2016). FPIs sold stocks worth a net Rs 6069.31 crore into the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 4469.40 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 30 March 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net inflow of Rs 422.36 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 30 March 2016). There was an inflow of Rs 547.92 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month.
The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 25.90 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 30 March 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
