Net outflow of Rs 1117.67 crore on 26 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1117.67 crore into the secondary equity markets on 26 February 2018, higher than net outflow of Rs 549.83 crore on 23 February 2018. On 26 February 2018, the Sensex had surged 303.60 points or 0.89% to settle at 34,445.75, its highest closing level since 5 February 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1117.67 crore from the secondary equity markets on 26 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4279.66 crore and gross sales of Rs 5397.33 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 2.74 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 26 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.03 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 15917.69 crore into the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far (till 26 February 2018). They had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 5755.14 crore from the primary market & others' category in February 2018 so far (till 26 February 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 146.02 crore from the primary market & others' category in January 2018.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 2282.25 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 26 February 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
