Net outflow of Rs 1285.59 crore on 9 April 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1285.59 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 April 2018, as compared to net outflow of Rs 170.15 crore on 6 April 2018. On 9 April 2018, the Sensex rose 161.57 points or 0.48% to settle at 33,788.54, its highest closing level since 14 March 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1285.59 crore from the secondary equity markets on 9 April 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4490.63 crore and gross sales of Rs 5776.22 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 1.08 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 9 April 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.07 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.99 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 3538.64 crore into the secondary equity markets in April 2018 so far (till 9 April 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 6685.63 crore from the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have purchased stocks worth a net Rs 2257.86 crore from the primary market & others' category in April 2018 so far (till 9 April 2018). They purchased stocks worth a net Rs 4968.66 crore from the primary market & others' category last month.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 412.11 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 9 April 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
