Net inflow of Rs 142.60 crore on 19 December 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 142.60 crore from the secondary equity markets on 19 December 2017, compared with net outflow of Rs 183.53 crore on 18 December 2017. On 19 December 2017, the Sensex gained 235.06 points, or 0.7%, to settle at 33,836.74, a record high.
The net inflow of Rs 142.60 crore on 19 December 2017 in the secondary equity markets was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6092.39 crore and gross sales of Rs 5949.79 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 1418.80 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 19 December 2017, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1059.94 crore and gross sales of Rs 2478.74 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 4604.80 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 19 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8508.60 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 19 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
