Net outflow of Rs 232.01 crore on 7 July 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 232.01 crore from the secondary equity market yesterday, 7 July 2016, compared with inflow of Rs 344.66 crore on Tuesday, 5 July 2016. The stock market was closed on Wednesday, 6 July 2016, for a public holiday. The net outflow of Rs 232.01 crore from the secondary equity markets on 7 July 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4341.37 crore and gross sales of Rs 4573.38 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 34.62 points or 0.13% to settle at 27,201.49, its highest closing level since 4 July 2016.
The net outflow of Rs 202.03 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 7 July 2016 was a result of nil gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 202.03 crore.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 1235.67 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 7 July 2016). FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3418.97 crore from the secondary equity markets in June. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 19471.65 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 7 July 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
There has been a net outflow of Rs 7.18 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in this month so far (till 7 July 2016). There has been a net inflow of Rs 293.91 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in June. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 923.43 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 7 July 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
