Net outflow of Rs 179.95 crore on 5 April 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 179.95 crore into the secondary equity markets on 5 April 2018, as compared to net inflow of Rs 289.40 crore on 4 April 2018. On 5 April 2018, the Sensex rose 577.73 points or 1.75% to settle at 33,596.80, its highest closing level since 15 March 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 179.95 crore into the secondary equity markets on 5 April 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4470.47 crore and gross sales of Rs 4650.42 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 715.85 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 5 April 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 718.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 2.95 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 2082.90 crore from the secondary equity markets in April 2018 so far (till 5 April 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 6685.63 crore from the secondary equity markets last month.
FPIs have purchased stocks worth a net Rs 2177.38 crore from the primary market & others' category in April 2018 so far (till 5 April 2018). They purchased stocks worth a net Rs 4968.66 crore from the primary market & others' category last month.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 1429.43 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 5 April 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
