Net outflow of Rs 63.29 crore on 7 June 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 63.29 crore from the secondary equity markets on 6 June 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 499.87 crore on 5 June 2017. On that day, the Sensex fell 118.93 points or 0.38% to settle at 31,190.56, its lowest closing level since 1 June 2017.
The net outflow of Rs 63.29 crore on 6 June 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4093.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 4156.89 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 3070.34 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 6 June 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.17 crore and gross sales of Rs 3071.51 crore.
FPIs have purchased stocks worth a net Rs 1398.94 crore from the secondary equity markets in June 2017 so far (till 6 June 2017). FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 2807.24 crore in May 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 39048.33 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 6 June 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
