Net outflow of Rs 271.36 crore on 24 July 2017
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 271.36 crore from the secondary equity markets on 24 July 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 51.56 crore on 21 July 2017. FPIs snapped six straight sessions of buying. On that day, the Sensex rose 216.98 points or 0.68% to settle at 32,245.87, its record closing level.
The net outflow of Rs 271.36 crore on 24 July 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4803.36 crore and gross sales of Rs 5074.72 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 1.03 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 24 July 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.89 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 1636.75 crore from the secondary equity markets in July 2017 so far (till 24 July 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 906.13 crore from the secondary equity markets in June 2017.
FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 40192.27 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 24 July 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.
