Net outflow of Rs 842.79 crore on 15 December 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 842.79 crore into the secondary equity markets on 15 December 2017, compared with net inflow of Rs 280.55 crore on 14 December 2017. On 15 December 2017, the Sensex advanced 216.27 points or 0.65% to settle at 33,462.97, its highest closing level since 29 November 2017.

The net outflow of Rs 842.79 crore on 15 December 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 9270.16 crore and gross sales of Rs 10112.95 crore.

There was a net outflow of Rs 27.26 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 15 December 2017, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4.13 crore and gross sales of Rs 31.39 crore.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 4563.87 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 15 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 8549.53 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 15 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 45199.41 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 15 December 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
