Gujarat Borosil surged 7.57% to Rs 96.60 at 12:46 IST on BSE after the company opened its new glass melting and production facility for 2mm fully tempered solar glass.
The announcement was made during market hours today, 11 October 2017.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 118.36 points or 0.37% at 32,042.77. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index advanced 87.16 points or 0.52% at 16,979.66.
On the BSE, 2.18 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 40,386 shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 99.80 and a low of Rs 91.75 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 120 on 24 October 2016 and a 52-week low of Rs 66.55 on 22 November 2016.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 10 October 2017, advancing 5.09% compared with the Sensex's 0.75% rise. The stock had, however, underperformed the market over the past one quarter, sliding 5.92% as against the Sensex's 0.66% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market over the past one year, gaining 6.02% as against the Sensex's 13.68% rise.
The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 34.10 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.
Gujarat Borosil's net profit fell 81.1% to Rs 0.60 crore on 5.1% decline in net sales to Rs 40.62 crore in Q1 June 2017 over Q1 June 2016.
