Gujarat Gas slips after large bulk deal

Gujarat Gas was off 0.93% to Rs 830 at 15:18 IST on BSE after a large bulk deal of 1.44 crore shares was executed on the scrip at Rs 836.80 per share at 10:30 IST on BSE.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 225.09 points or 0.68% at 32,949.30.

Bulk deal boosted volume on the scrip. On the BSE, 1.44 crore shares were traded on the counter so far as against average daily volumes of 24.70 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 854.50 and a low of Rs 827 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 973.95 on 3 November 2017 and a 52-week low of Rs 721.60 on 25 May 2017.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 137.68 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Gujarat Gas reported 42.62% rise in net profit to Rs 60 crore on 27.67% rise in net sales to Rs 1571.33 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.

Gujarat Gas (formerly known as GSPC Distribution Networks), is India's largest city gas distribution player with presence spread across 22 districts in the state of Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Thane GA which includes Palghar district of Maharashtra. The company has India's largest customer base in major user segments.
