Hathway Cable in spotlight after turnaround in Q3

Hathway Cable & Datacom rose 1.91% to Rs 40 at 10:42 IST on BSE after the company reported net profit of Rs 23.87 crore in Q3 December 2017, compared with net loss of Rs 44.40 crore in Q3 December 2016.

The results were announced after market hours on Monday, 12 February 2018. Domestic stock markets had remained closed yesterday, 13 February 2018, on account of Mahashivratri.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 36.68 points or 0.11% at 34,337.15. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index advanced 143.24 points or 0.85% at 16,995.70.

On the BSE, 1.79 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against average daily volumes of 4.59 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock had hit a high of Rs 41.05 and a low of Rs 39.65 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 49.45 on 24 April 2017 and a 52-week low of Rs 27.05 on 11 August 2017.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past 30 days till 12 February 2018, falling 2.97% compared with 0.84% fall in the Sensex. The scrip, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 8.88% as against Sensex's 4.12% rise. The scrip, however, underperformed the market in past one year, advancing 8.58% as against Sensex's 20.98% rise.

The mid-cap company has equity capital of Rs 166.10 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Hathway Cable & Datacom's total income dropped 57.39% to Rs 144.57 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q3 December 2016.
