Hero MotoCorp rose 1.02% to Rs 2271.40 at 9:20 IST on BSE after total sales increased 11.9% to 5.24 lakh units in March 2014 over March 2013.
The company made the announcement after market hours on Tuesday, 1 April 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 78.05 points, or 0.35%, to 22,524.49.
On BSE, so far 1,403 shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 18,381 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 2,279.85 and a low of Rs 2,261.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 2,298 on 31 March 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 1,434.05 on 15 April 2013.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 1 April 2014, rising 14.42% compared with the Sensex's 6.28% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 7.79% as against Sensex's 6.18% rise.

Hero MotoCorp's sales grew 3% to 62.45 lakh units in the fiscal ended 31 March 2014 over the fiscal ended 31 March 2013. The company said it was the highest ever despatch sales in any financial year.
"Our strong sales performance in FY14 is reflective of our new strategic approach that focuses on bringing revolutionary and game-changing technologies," Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said.
The new financial year will be loaded with a slew of new launches, including many of the products showcased at the recent Auto Expo, he added. "These launches will be backed by strong marketing campaigns and continued market expansion. We are gearing up for increased market demand for our products with the commissioning of the Neemrana plant in this financial year," Dua said.
Hero MotoCorp's net profit rose 7.5% to Rs 524.66 crore on 11.3% growth in net sales to Rs 6845.91 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.
Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of production capacity.
