Hindustan Media Ventures gains after bulk deal

Hindustan Media Ventures advanced 3.94% to Rs 166 at 10:15 IST on BSE after 0.47% equity changed hands in a bulk deal on BSE today, 27 August 2014.

A bulk deal of 3.50 lakh shares was executed on the Hindustan Media Ventures counter at Rs 163 per share in opening trade on BSE today, 27 August 2014.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 135.52 points or 0.51% at 26,578.33

On BSE, so far 3.51 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 3,878 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 168 and low of Rs 163 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 93 on 7 October 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 179.95 on 7 July 2014.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 26 August 2014, rising 1.01% compared with 1.21% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 2.29% as against Sensex's 6.98% rise.

The company has equity capital of Rs 73.39 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Hindustan Media Ventures' net profit rose 11.8% to Rs 33.88 crore on 18% growth in total income to Rs 222.62 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013.
