Hong Kong Market drops for fourth day in row
Capital MarketThe Hong Kong stock market finished session down on Tuesday, 17 April 2018, as concerns over the trade standoff between China and the United States have kept global risk assets in check, with the violence in Syria adding another layer of uncertainty for markets. Market shrugged off data showing China's economy grew solidly in the first quarter. The Hang Seng Index fell 0.83%, or 252.84 points, to 30,062.75, marking a fourth straight loss. The H-share index fell 107 points or 0.9% to 11,900. Turnover increased to HK$117.2 billion from HK$107.6 billion on Monday. Among the 50 blue chips, eight rose and 40 dropped, with two stocks remaining steady.
