Hong Kong Market trades mixed
Capital Market Hong Kong share market were mixed after two days of gains on Wednesday, 29 August 2018, as positive cues from Wall Street overnight were offset by worries about the next batch of proposed tariffs from the Trump administration, covering $200 billion worth of Chinese imports. Around afternoon, the Hang Seng Index added 64.01 points or 0.23% to 28,415.63. The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index declined 12.81 points or 0.12% to 11,084.78. The sub-index of the Hang Seng tracking the Commerce & Industry sector inclined 0.3% and the financial sector was 0.1% up, meanwhile Utilities sector added 0.5% and properties sector rose 0.6%.
OFFSHORE MARKET NEWS, US stock market closed higher on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 14.38 points or 0.1% to 26,064.02, the Nasdaq ticked up 12.14 points or 0.2% to 8,030.04 and the S&P 500 inched up 0.78 points or less than a tenth of a% to 2,897.52.
The major European stock markets ended mixed on Tuesday. The German DAX Index edged down by 0.1%, while the French CAC 40 Index crept up by 0.1% and the U.K.'s FTSE 100 Index climbed by 0.5%.
