Housing and Urban Development Corporation rose 3.30% to Rs 39.10 at 09:22 IST on the BSE after the company informed about recovery of dues in an old default matter.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 249.18 points or 0.67% to 37,135.81.
On the BSE, 40,000 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 1.20 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock hit a high of Rs 39.25 and a low of Rs 38.50 so far during the day.
HUDCO said that in an old default matter since June 2004, the company has received an amount of Rs 253.83 crore (Principal Outstanding Rs 81.87 crore) in full and final settlement of its dues on 13 September 2019. The announcement was made after market hours on Friday, 13 September 2019.
