ICICI Bank May futures trade at premium to spot price

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment declines

The May 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 7898.25, a premium of 48.45 points compared with Nifty's closing of 7849.80 in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) futures and options (F&O) totaled Rs 2.24 lakh crore, lower than turnover of Rs 7.75 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.

In the cash market, the Nifty rose 2.55 points or 0.03% to settle at 7,849.80, its highest closing level since 27 April 2016.

ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and Tata Steel were the top traded individual stock futures contracts on the futures & options (F&O) segment of NSE. ICICI Bank May 2016 futures traded at 239.20, at a premium compared with spot closing of 237.60. Yes Bank May 2016 futures traded at 941.70, near spot closing of 941. Axis Bank May 2016 futures traded at 474.35, at a premium compared with spot closing of 471.

State Bank of India May 2016 futures traded at 189.30, near spot closing of 188.60. Tata Steel May 2016 futures traded at 354.80, at a premium over spot closing of 352.45.

The May 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 26 May 2016.
