Jaiprakash Associates, Sterlite Technologies, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals and Jain Irrigation Systems are among the other gainers in the BSE's 'A' group today, 19 July 2017.
Idea Cellular jumped 8.89% to Rs 94.90 at 13:35 IST. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. On the BSE, 29.88 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 18.48 lakh shares in the past two weeks. Telecom players reportedly sought an increase in the interconnection usage charge (IUC) from the current level of 14 paise per minute on the ground that terminating incoming calls from other telcos on their networks costs 30-35 paise per minute. Any increase in IUC would lead to higher mobile call rates as the charge is included in the overall tariff paid by consumers.
Jaiprakash Associates surged 8.01% at Rs 23.60. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 1.62 crore shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 1.16 crore shares in the past two weeks.
Sterlite Technologies jumped 6.64% to Rs 168.60. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 6.03 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 1.89 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals vaulted 6.3% at Rs 130.65. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 4.32 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 2.59 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Jain Irrigation Systems rose 5.64% to Rs 108.55. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. On the BSE, 11.62 lakh shares were traded on the counter so far as against the average daily volumes of 4.55 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
