HPCL rose 5.75% to Rs 223.40 and was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on bargain hunting after falling 2.7% in prior two trading days to Rs 211.25 on 4 December 2013 from a recent high of Rs 217.10 on 2 December 2013.
