Cumulative crude oil production up 0.5% to 15.638 million tonnes in April-August 2015
India's crude oil production increased at highest pace in last four years of 5.6% to 3.193 million tonnes (mt) in August 2015 over August 2014, while snapping decline for last two sequential months. Crude oil output of ONGC increased 3.7% to 1.929 mt, but that of Oil India declined 7.5% to 0.276 mt. The crude oil production of private and joint venture (JV) companies jumped 14% to 0.988 mt.ONGC's offshore output improved 6.2% to 1.436 mt, but onshore production continued to dip at 2.9% to 0.493 mt.
Crude oil output rose 0.5% to 15.638 mt in April-August period of the fiscal year ending March 2016 (April-August 2015), against 1.3% decline recorded in the corresponding period of last year. Output of ONGC rose 1.4% to 9.385 mt, but that of Oil India declined 2.8% to 1.368 mt and private companies fell 0.2% to 4.866 mt in April-August 2015 over April-August 2014.
