Fuel product consumption rises 1.3% in April-October 2019
India's fuel product consumption or sales fell 0.9% to 17.41 million tonnes (mt) in October 2019 over a year ago. Diesel sales declined 7.4% to 6.51 mt, naphtha 12.8% to 1.11 mt, bitumen 23.0% to 0.42 mt and kerosene 41.0% to 0.17 mt. Further, the consumption of fuel oil also declined 15.2% to 0.47 mt, lubes/greases 15.5% to 0.30 mt, others 2.5% to 0.99 mt and light diesel oil (LDO) 1.4% to 0.05 mt. However, the consumption of petcoke declined 30.5% to 1.79 mt, LPG 14.3% to 2.36 mt, petrol 8.9% to 2.54 mt and ATF 1.6% to 0.71 mt in October 2019.Consumption or sales of fuel products rose 1.3% to 123.18 mt in April-October 2019 over April-October 2018. Sales of petrol increased 9.1% to 17.84 mt, LPG 5.6% to 14.91 mt, others 11.4% to 6.90 mt, petcoke 3.6% to 12.69 mt, and LDO 13.3% to 0.37 mt. However, the consumption of naphtha declined 8.9% to 7.35 mt, kerosene 24.9% to 1.56 mt, fuel oil 7.0% to 3.53 mt and ATF 2.7% to 4.66 mt. Further, the consumption of lubes/greases also fell 5.6% to 2.15 mt, diesel 0.2% to 47.85 mt and bitumen 0.3% to 3.37 mt in April-October 2019.
