Fuel products demand up 1.6% in April-July 2019
India's fuel product consumption or sales improved 3.3% to 17.58 million tonnes (mt) in July 2019 over a year ago. LPG sales improved 9.0% to 2.22 mt, diesel 3.3% to 6.83 mt, petrol 8.8% to 2.52 mt and others 18.6% to 1.07 mt. Further, the consumption of bitumen also moved up 36.2% to 0.39 mt, fuel oil 8.2% to 0.55 mt, lubes/greases 4.8% to 0.32 mt and light diesel oil (LDO) 17.5% to 0.05 mt. However, the consumption of petcoke declined 12.1% to 1.55 mt, kerosene 33.3% to 0.20 mt, naphtha 5.3% to 1.22 mt and ATF 0.8% to 0.67 mt in July 2019.Consumption or sales of fuel products rose 1.6% to 72.52 mt in April-July 2019 over April-July 2018. Sales of petrol increased 9.7% to 10.35 mt, diesel 2.4% to 29.37 mt, others 18.4% to 4.07 mt, and LPG 1.1% to 7.96 mt. Consumption of bitumen also gained 2.3% to 2.30 mt, LDO 6.5% to 0.20 mt and lubes/greases 0.1% to 1.25 mt. However, the consumption of naphtha declined 15.8% to 3.83 mt, kerosene 18.3% to 0.98 mt, petcoke 2.6% to 7.48 mt, ATF 2.7% to 2.66 mt and fuel oil 1.7% to 2.06 mt in April-July 2019.
