Nifty March futures trade at premium
The Nifty March 2020 futures were at 8,354.80, a premium 36.95 points compared with the spot closing at 8,317.85.Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 6.81 lakh crore compared with Rs 5.50 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index jumped 516.80 or 6.62% at 8,317.85.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, slips 7.94% to 76.9625.
On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 26 March 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 20.18 lakh at the 9,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 22.18 lakh contracts was seen at 7,000 strike price.
Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and HDFC were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

Reliance Industries March 2020 futures were at 1,078.75, compared with spot closing price of 1074. ICICI Bank March 2020 futures were at 314.45 compared with spot closing price of 315.15. HDFC March 2020 futures were at 1,661.40, compared with spot closing price of 1655.60.
The F&O contracts for March expire on 26 March 2020.
